I am researching my gggrandfather Rosiel D. Campbell, born in LaFayette, Onondaga Co. in 1810, he died in Augusta, Eau Claire Co, WI in 1890, I believe he married and was widowed while in NY. He is on the 1840 census for Manchester, Boone Co., IL along with a David Campbell, 50-60 yrs old, a female 50-60, and two young boys. One of these show up on a later census as Langdon Campbell. Even with a name like Rosiel (aka Rossel), he is still hard to find. He is also listed on the ILGenWeb Civil War roster along with William L. and Charles R. Campbell, possibly his brothers.
