Surnames: Titus
My grandmother was Mary Belle Titus born 12/02/1875 married George Fisher Barton (04/29/1873-Jan or Nov 23,1949) in Vernon, Onieda CO., NY in 1890. She died Nov. 5 1962 in Watkins Glen, Schyler, CO. NY and was a resident of Montour Falls, Schyler CO, NY. The family papers, photos etc. were sold at auction after the death of her daughter-in-law Evelyn (Mrs. George Titus Barton). My father John Titus Barton sold a catherdral chair like in photo of Col. Titus at auction in Syracuse, NY when his house in Montour Falls, NY was sold. We will send the print out of picture to him to see if he can remember same. My cousin video taped grandma's home before it was emptied. As a kid, I was given a civil war bugle that had been battered by use by grandparents and kept it. I have no idea who grandma's parents were. Saw your posting about buying David Sands Titus papers on e-bay. As he died in Watkins Glen during correct time period, he may have brought all the portraits to the Barton Home.
