Hi, When I looked up my dad in the 1940 census recently I found out that he lived several years (5-15 years old) at the house of providence. I looked up their website and contacted the historian (Catholic Charities) in the building and she took the time to go through their dusty archives and sent me everything in my dad's files. It had so much (letters from relatives, nuns who took care of him, letters from his dad, and even 2 written by my dad as a kid; report cards, medical records, etc.). I'm so happy that I contacted them!
