SAGE, Selah
I am attempting to fill in some gaps in the research that I have performed to date on Selah SAGE.
Selah SAGE was born on 18 DEC 1752 in Waterbury Village, New Haven, Connecticut Colony, the son of Allen and Abigail (WILLARD) SAGE.
He lived in Waterbury up until his father sold his farm in 1769.
He was living in the "Oblong" in 1770.
He was living in Dutchess County, NY from 1771-1773.
He was a Private, Capt. John King's Co., Col. Hopkins's (Berkshire Co.) Regt.; entered service July 15, 1776; discharged July 27, 1776; service, 12 days; mileage out and home (190 miles) allowed; company marched by order of Brig. Gen. Fellows.
In AUG 1776 he signed a petition to incorporate an unorganized plantation' called Tauconnuck Mountain in Massachusetts.
He paid property taxes in 1779 in King's District, Albany, NY (Canaan, Columbia, NY). King's District was a part of Albany County, New York in 1779, out of which was formed the present-day towns of Canaan and New Lebanon, Columbia Co., New York.

He was on jury list in 1799 in Bloomfield, Ontario, NY.
He appeared in the census in 1800 in Bloomfield, Ontario, NY. In the 1800 census the record shows: 2, 2, 1, 1, 0 || 1, 1, 0, 1, 0. This is 2 males under 10, 2 males 10 through 15, 1 male 16 through 25, 1 male 26 through 44, 1 female under 10, 1 female 10 through 15 and 1 female 26 through 44.
In 1801 Allen SAGE sold land to Selah in Ontario County, NY.
He was on jury list in 1805 in Bloomfield, Ontario, NY.
He appeared in the census in 1810 in Bloomfield, Ontario, NY. In the 1810 census the record shows: 0, 1, 0, 0, 1 || 0, 1, 0, 0, 1. This is 1 male 10 through 15, 1 male 45 and over, 1 female 10 through 15 and 1 female 45 and over. Lyman and Mary are probably the children. I have found census records for Joseph, David and Selah (all living next to each other) in the 1810 census for Bloomfield, Ontario, NY.
He was on jury list in 1811 in Bloomfield, Ontario, NY.
He died on 3 MAY 1813 in Bloomfield, Ontario, NY.
He was on jury list in 1813 in Bloomfield, Ontario, NY. On the 1813 jury list he is stated as dead.
He had his estate probated in 1813 in Bloomfield, Ontario, NY. PROBATE: Index to Testators, Volume 6 (1812-1813); Ontario County, New York
