Small world. Ruby was married to my grandmother's brother, Herb. Their daughters, Bonnie and Sidney are my dad's first cousins.

My grandmother moved to Jersey City when she got married in 1936. They were never very close to the rest of the Middletown Burrs because their father, Herb Burr Sr. ran off and left them when they were young children.

My grandmother never talked much about her Burr relatives, but before she died, gave me a notebook full of names, dates, places, and occupations before she died in 2000. Since then, I have been able to trace the Burr's back to the 1700's in Ulster County. So far,the most interesting part of this search has been the Middletown Burrs. Newspaper archive.com has ALL of the Middletown papers from 1850 to 1950 digitized. I have been able to find a ton of colorful detail to fill in my facts. The problem with finding all of this info is that it has also generated a ton more questions. Thank you for your suggestion, I will contact the Goshen Village Police Chief to see what information he may know. If you think of anything else, or know of anyone else who may know this family, please email me at salmonhale@yahoo.com. Thanks!
