My great great grandfather was Issac Kerkendall/Kirchenthal b May 1809, probably in NJ or PA. I have no idea where, but he married a widow Christina (Winters) Wilhelm (sp?)b NJ to Henry Winters and wife. Isaac raised a large family in Lower Mt Bethel Twp, Northampton Co. PA, which included my great grandfather Rhinaldo Kerkendall b 1852 PA, d 1947 NYC. I have never been able to track Isaac's parentage, but I had a number of Kuykendall stories as a child, including an Indian trader Jacob Kuykendall who in 1714 led a tri-state commission party to find the headwaters of the Delaware River. Over 30 years ago I found proof of the tale in the book " First Settlers of the Forks of the Delaware". But despite many years of searches, I have not found the proper Kuykendall branch for Issac K. b May 1809. He may have been born in NJ, NY or PA, I have no idea, but suspected NJ.
