Hoping some one can help me find the ancestors of Charles W. Ives, a Civil War soldier. Here's what's known:

Charles W. Ives enlisted in the Union army 8/12/1862 at Troy, New York, and served in the 125th New York Infantry. His enlistment papers state he was born in Troy, Rensselaer County, NY, and was 19 years old -- thus b. abt. 1843. Since he was a minor, his father also signed his enlistment contract. Both Charles and his father had atrocious handwriting, but after 20 minutes of eyestrain I'm NEARLY certain his father's name was Truman Ives.

Less than a year after enlisting, Private Charles W. Ives was killed in action at Gettysburg.

That's all I have. Does anyone recognize Charles or Truman? I would like to be able to hook them into the family tree.

Thanks for any help,
Ken Ives
