Surnames: Patterson, Proper, Carbonneau
I have found in my recent searching, a listing for a marriage between Martha Permelia Proper (divorced from James Patterson) and Louis Carbonneau in Potsdam in 1870. James is my relative, so I haven't traced Martha any further than that, but can tell you that she and James were married on 6/3/1848 in Malone, NY, and divorced some time prior to 1867 in Waupaca, WI. Martha must have then gone back to NY to be near family. Hope this goes some way toward explaining your Parmelia Patterson
