Hi Karen,
I too am a descendant of the Matthews (Mathews) line that came to Hector, NY. I would be most interested to "trade info" with you on this family line. My roots can be traced back to a Steven Mathews b.1745, who I believe was a brother of Amasa Mathews (I have some conflicting documents about this). Either way, my roots are in the town of Hector, and surrounding towns. I hope to be able to travel there sometime- the countryside looks beautiful!
One document you may be interested in I have scanned and posted in my Ancestry.com family tree. It has over 600 persons, and growing. Mostly Mathews, Eastman lines. If you are interested, I will give you access to it.
