The following obituary appeared in the Tuesday, April 21, 1931 issue of the Evening Leader, Corning, New York:

Joseph Francis Savage, a member of the New York Stock Exchange and former general manager of the American Tube and Stamping Company of Bridgeport, Conn., died Saturday night, after an illness of two weeks, at his residence in the Leverich Towers Hotel, Brooklyn. He was 46 years old. The funeral was held today.

Among the near relatives who survive Mr. Savage are his widow, the former Miss Edna Creem, a daughter of Daniel J. Creem of Brooklyn, native of Corning and for many years head of the public utility group that operated the gas and electric companies in Corning; three sons, Joseph, Jr., Thomas and Daniel; two daughters, Edna and Marion; his mother, Mrs. John D. Savage of La Jolla, Cal.

A native of Nashua, N.H., Mr. Savage prepared for college at high school in Bridgeport, Conn., and was graduated from the Sheffield Scientific School in 1907. He obtained his seat on the Exchange in May, 1929. He had an office with E. F. Hutton & Co., 61 Broadway, New York.
