My records indicate that Noah M. Brooks was born in Troupsburg, New York, October 31, 1829. He was the youngest of seven children born to Joseph and Margaret Hauber Brooks. Noah M. Brooks ran a mercantile business in South Troupsburg and Harrison, Pa. His first wife was Nancy Ordway. Second wife was Jennie Howard of Troupsburg.
