I contacted a researcher for you and copied your questions and this is her reply:
"ok, I did some initial searching and nothing found as yet and will continue looking but meanwhile-
Some suggestions (if you haven't already done these)
1- contact the local historical society and ask them to search any sanitarium/sanitorium/asylum (all asylums are not just for insane people) records they may have.
I have always found them to be very helpful.
2-if no luck check state historical society and state archives for same.
3-check local newspaper's (in service at that time) archives (including obits, notices of death and news items).
Yes, this was 'news'; people were way nosier back then and any news was good gossip over the back fence :-)
4-check the local libraries. Usually a historical or genealogy librarian will search for you.
