I believe the records from Central Islip State Hospital are still there. Those records are a huge part of history as well as seeing how far mental health has come and how it's treated.

I think unless you have a good attorney or a Dr. giving reason why this information would be important, they just discourage people by just saying no records can be found. I would love to know one person who has had success in getting a relatives records.
