There were two William McDonalds in the 1830 census for Warren County. A William in Queensbury was b. New Milford CT 29 Feb. 1784 to Dr. Charles and Mary (Sanford) McDonald; he d. Glens Falls 11 Sept. 1870, ae. 86y 6m, bur. Glens Falls Cem. He m. Schuylerville, 16 Jan. 1809 Maria Jane Davis, bur. with him. William served in the State Assembly. They had two sons named William: the first was b. 11 March 1815 and d. 25 March 1815; the second was William Henry, b. Sanfords Ridge 15 March 1823 and d. Helena MT 23 Aug. 1904; he res. Washington DC in 1902.
The second William was at William at Warrensburg in 1830 (20001/11001). There was a later William McDonald at Caldwell, b. c. 1839, there in 1880 with wife Elisabeth, b. c. 1840. He may be the William McDonald, 60, butcher, listed by himself at Caldwell in 1892. At Glens Falls in 1860 was William McDonald, 26, butcher, with Amelia and with Elizabeth, Mary and Beecher. Lewis McDonald, at Stony Creek in 1860, had son William, 13.
Bur. in Lake George Cem. is Edgar McDonald, who d. 10 Oct. 1876, ae. 44; served with Co. H, 93rd Regt., in Civil War.
