there are a number of durkee's buried in the Union cemetary in fort edward ny. the dates run from 1819 to the 1900's. Some of these remains may have been moved from the old state street cemetary in fort edward. there also some durkees buried there also.
I come from the James durkee line who was born in windham conn in 1721 and died in fort edward ny.
his parents were born in ipswich, essex county, mass
and died in woodbury , litchfield county, connecticut
