John Reid ( wife, Janet Stuart) enlisted with Montgomery Highlanders and settled in Wash. Co.. on land granted to those who served in the "old French War" with the British Gov't that ended in 1763. He had 300 acres on Clark Creek. His dau., Ann, b. in Perth, Scotland, m. Donald McDougall. John and Donald were both Loyalists.
