My grandfather Carroll Jenkins used to sell honey in Washington County, and lived in Greenwich, NY. He also worked as a minister for the Alliance Church. In 1945 he was killed at the double railroad tracks in Smith's Basin near Fort Ann. My family has very little information, my grandmother Velma Anna, moved back to Vega, NY with her 8 children and my father, who was 10 months old, after his passing. If anyone has information about the wreck, we are seeking it. This includes newspaper information, or personal stories/accounts. Thanks.
