Re: the Sands H. Austin who lived in Watertown in 1880.
There is an official notice placement in the newspaper "Franklin Gazette" of October 22?, 1880 that says:
Citation - Proof of Will. The people of the state of new york by the grace of God free and independent-- To Sands H. Austin, residing at North Lawrence, St. Lawrence County, New York; George Austin, residing at Westville, Franklin County, New York; and Almon Austin, William Austin, Silas Austin, Cornelius Austin, and Tyler Ostrander, whose places of residence are unknown, and which cannot, after diligent inquiry be ascertained, heirs at-law and next of kin of Robert N. Austin, late of the town of Fort Covington, in the County of Franklin, deceased, greeting:
You, and each of you are hereby cited and required oersonally to be and appear before our surrogate of Franklin County, at his office in Malone village in said County, on the 13th day December, 1880, at ten o'clock in the forenoon of that day, to attend the proof and probate of the last will and testament of said deceased which relates to both real and personal estate, and is presented for proof and probate by Libbuh (sp.?) Austin, executrix therein named, and hereof fail not.
