Go to Fold 3.com/war of 1812/N.C./E/Edwards/ EdwardsStokes. There are approx. 25 pages concerning him and his service as a private in that war when he was about 22 years old. On the very first page is a paper about his pension and the following information is given on those papers. He was married to TWO Elizabeths> E. Dison and E. Couch. The pages go on to show-

Stokes Edwards was born in 1790 and died in 1871 at his home in Surry Co. on bounty land he acquired from being a private.

His first wife is listed as Elizabeth DISON (she would be the age to bear Yancy, Jinsay, Frances, etc. She died in 1857. This is U.S. government documentation.

He then married Elizabeth Couch July 26, 1865. She was born in 1800 and died June 1901. After Stokes died she moved to Kapps Mills. She is the widow seeking his pension on the papers.
You can print or download the pages for your files.
