LAUREL SPRINGS, NC James Claude Mabe March 21, 1947-April 18, 2012 James Claude Mabe, age 65 of 643 Mabe Road, Laurel Springs, NC died Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at his residence.
He was born is Ashe County March 21, 1947 to Claude Wayne and Ossie Faye Halsey Mabe.
He is preceded in death by his father.
He was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church and a member of the Dairy Farmers of America.
He is survived by his wife, Lucy Bare Mabe of the home; one daughter, Teresa Mabe Binder and husband Mike; two sons, Brad Mabe and wife Beth, James Scott Mabe and wife Teena all of Laurel Springs; his mother, Faye Mabe of Laurel Springs; seven grandchildren, Courtney Binder, Brittani and Jeremy Mabe, Branden and Emily Mabe, Paxton and Kailey Hodges; one sister, Geraldine Blevins and husband Tim of Laurel Springs; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Friday, April 20, 2012 at the Grandview Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow in the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery in Piney Creek, NC. The family will receive friends starting at 1:00 p.m. until time of the service at the funeral home and other times at the residence. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to High Country Hospice of Alleghany, PO Box 1287, Sparta, NC 28675. Grandview Memorial Funeral Home in Sparta is serving the Mabe family.
