I have photos of headstones of Abe Gwynn born in 1857 d 1937 and a Mary Gwynn b 1862 and d 1941. They are located in a very small cemetery in the woods in Heaton area about 3-5 miles from Elk Park on hwy 194 towards Banner Elk. The cemetery is the Lige Smith Cemetery located on a hill just above the road past Old Beech Mountain Road. Those are the only 2 Gywnns with headstones, one Brewer, one Smith and one Oaks and there are a few unmarked fieldstones. Hope this helps.
