1. Samuel HICKS/HIX, arrives 25 May 1637 along the

Rappahannock River, indentured servant to Peter and

Margaret REY. REY family lived in Isle of Wight, VA.

Note: there are no records of marriage or of his

family; children cannot be firmly identified.

Reconstructing of children's names are based on names

of grandchildren. Which child had the grandchildren is

unknown.

1800; died in Elbert Co., GA. David and family are well

documented in GA prior to the Civil War.

Jan 1863 AWOL; Jun 1863 returned to service; Aug 1863

AWOL; Jan 1864 removed from rolls probably due to ill

health; d 1901 cancer; buried Hicks Cemetery on Big

Horse Creek, Avery Co., NC
