Coleman M. Clark, 1, is found in the 1870 Caldwell county census (John's River) and listed as son of Cleveland and Melita (confirms the information that is on his death certificate.) Cleveland Clark is also found in the 1850 Caldwell county census in Lower Creek, living alone as a 23 year old. It seems to me the key is findihg out what (if any relationship) existed between Cleveland Clark, and Douthard Coleman Clark, Charlotte Leavie Clark's grandfather. Interesting that the name 'Coleman' is in both families.
