Joseph Dukes-Sarah A.(Hardy) Dukes Information

Classification: Query
Surnames: Dukes, Hardy, Harrell
I am researching my ancestor - Joseph Dukes who lived in Bertie County 1810-1850 (determined by Census). In the 1850 Census it shows his wife was Sarah A. Dukes who I believe was a Hardy (father William P. Hardy). I believe he moved to Lenoir County after 1850 due to the death of Sarah because he shows up alone on the census in 1860 and1870. I am trying to find any documentation or information on Sarah's death and where she might be buried. I am also trying to pinpoint what area of Bertie they would have lived - I am leaning towards Lewiston-Woodville or Colerain. I do know that Sarah is cited as a witness to the will of Mary Harrell in 1840 (From "Abstract of Bertie County Wills" The North Carolina Historical and Genealogical Register, Volume 2)
"Mary Harrell, Bertie Co., March 11, 1840; Nov. Term 1840. Daughters
Lavinia, Milly and Eliza Harrell, brother Thos. Ward dec'd, children Noah, George, Lawrence, Milly and Eliza Harrell, son Noah Exr. Test, Wm. J. Hardy, Sarah A. Dukes."

Finding information on my Dukes line in Bertie County has really been my brick wall - so I appreciate any "nuggets" you might provide!
