Thomas PUGH was chairman of the Bertie County NC County Court 1762-1784. He may have been succeeded by William Gray. Mary Edwards, about 14 years of age, was bound to Esther PUGH (until age 18) on November 7, 1791 (for spinning, weaving, sewing) in Bertie Co. NC.

Was Esther the wife of Thomas Pugh? In 1791 was she Widow Pugh, i.e. did Thomas Pugh die between 1784 and 1791?
