Looking for Evers ancestors .WILLIAM EVERS AND ELIZABETH EVERS. Trying to find out what Elizabeth 's maiden name was . William and Elizabeth lived in Bertie county. William may have been the son of a man named John Evers who came from Virginia in the late 1600s . Elizabeth and William had at least 4 sons and probably some daughters.The oldest son,John,lived in Duplin ,NC for awhile. After William died around 1750-55 ,Elizabeth indentured James to a Thomas Reasons OF Bertie County to learn the trade of a cordswainer (shoemaker).
