Surnames: McKoy, McKay, McCoy, Smith
Hello! My name is Donald Rush and I am a native of Elizabethtown, NC. I've been attempting to create a family tree for my maternal great grand parents Thad McKoy Sr. & Estella Smith McKoy Cromartie. They both are native to an area named Colly in Bladen County, NC. The summary of their lineages is as follows: As for the McKoy's, our great great grandfather was named Onslow McKoy and our great great grandmother was Flora Jane Johnson McKoy. Their children are as follows (Johnnie, William, James, George Washington, Thaddeus, Harrison, Gaydie, Ollee, King Sr., and Vannie McKoy.) They originated from the Colly, Bladen C
ounty Area of NC. As is pertains to the Smith's, our great great grandmother was named Elvia (Elvy) Jane Jackson Smith and our great great grandfather was named Amos Smith Jr. Their children were Willie Bell, Murry, Orilla, Estella, Malesten, Penella, Sheppard, and Jerome. They too originated in Colly/Bladen, NC. #Note: Some of the spellings may be incorrect due to census data. All of these children were born in the mid 1800's or very early 1900's. Please join the cause as we work to define our heritage, our ancestry, our uniqueness as people of color. If any of these names are familiar or if you can access any information to confirm info please share! My email is deegreg2002@yahoo.com
