I am a descendent of a slave Jack Lewis and I have traced him to Bladen County, North carolina. After doing research I found where Thomas Simson gave slaves to both his daughters Amey and Sarah Simson, who married into the Lewis line ( Richard Lewis and Durram Lewis). Jack Lewis's father was from Virginia and he was born in North Carolina, Bladen to be exact. Wondering if anyone of the Simson or Lewis family has any slave papers, tax lists etc that would give me some leads?
