Do you have the passengers or source for the Edinburough? I am interested in Christopher McKay who first owned 100 ac in bladen in 1784. Can't find the deed. Have deeds on 170 ac. He had a son named John b. in 1785 in NC. Don't know were he came from except possible the Hector.
He was grouped with Hugh and Alexander McKay in some records.
He owned 270 ac on the big swamp in NC. Land records are clear tracing him to SC in 1820. In SC they were listed as McCoy. They could be listed as McCoy or McKoy or McKay. There was a Christopher McKay on the ship Hector in 1773 out of Greenock and Lochbroom. I have the book if is anyone is interested. It only tells the names of the passengers. lots of surnames. Surnames that are grouped in records with Christ. are Alexander, & Hugh, John Dugal, Daniel, Archibald.
