I wondered across your posting you made in 2000 about Henry and James and Buncombe County. I have been trying to find more information about my gggg grandfather William Wood/s who was born in NC in 1786. I ran across information in the LDS records about James II, Henry, John, Jonathan and William who were sons of James Wood that was married to a Margaret and first settled into the Yadkin River Area and then were in Buncombe County on NC. The information in the LDS records states that this William was born abt. 1786 which is very close to my William. My William moved out of NC sometime between 1800 and 1807 because his son James was born in TN in 1807 and my William was married to a Rachael in accordance to the 1850 Bedford County, TN Census. At this time there may be a very big chance that my William and that William who was the son of James and Margaret Wood may be one in the same Wood. If your Henry and James are the son of James and Margaret I would like to talk to you at michaelaa2@excite.com
