My Woodard/Woodward line begins with Henry Woodward, born about 1795 in SC. He was bound as an indentured servant in 1815 in Mecklenburg Co., NC. He is found in the Census years 1830-1870 in Mecklenburg Co., NC and is listed as mulatto, black, and white, depending on the year. His children lived mostly in the Charlotte area and Morganton. A few made it to Asheville. I do not know of any connection to "Forks of Ivy".
