I am also looking into the Morgans of Burke County. I am looking for the parents of Sarah Ann Morgan born 13 Jun 1824. First married Jacob F. Abernathy and then John Russell Welch of Cherokee County, NC. Her granddaughter always maintained that Sarah Ann was a niece of famed Daniel Morgan of the Revolution but I have not been able to make the connection. Any clues would be appreciated.
