I was told by some of the family that my great grandmother, Roxann Giles Walker, was half Indian. Supposedly her father was Indian. Roxann lived in Burke and McDowell County as do many of her descendants. I have been intrigued by the possibility of Indian ancestry, but evidently it was something that was not discussed freely by the older persons in my family.
