Tora Turner, born about 1871 in Caswell County, North Carolina, was the daughter of Jordan and Matilda Turner. Tora's first marriage was to Preston Smith on 25 Oct 1890 in Locust Hill, Caswell, North Carolina. She had several children by him. Tara married James King on 26 Dec, 1910 in Welch, McDowell, North Carolina.
