Robert Bruce Hand was born 8-13-1859 in Dallas Twp Gaston Coounty NC His parents were Uriah Rufus Hand and Nancy C. Beard. Robert ran away to the Bahamas after 1884 and changed his name. The question is why? Can anyone help?
