The State of North Carolina did not start recording Births & Deaths until 1913. There are a number of Delayed Birth Records for the 1800s that were filed after 1913 by some citizens in some Counties, but the majority of those were for the late 1800s. In looking at Ancestry.com's database which they call "North Carolina Birth & Death Indexes 1800-2000", I see less than 100 Delayed Birth records filed before 1830, none of them for Cherokee County. According to the Index, the earliest Delayed Birth Certificate filed for Cherokee County was 1881.
