I am trying to perform some research to locate a birth record from a 3rd great grandmother of mine from about 1828 in Cherokee, County. I tried calling the Cherokee Co. register of deeds, but they indicated they only had records back to 1913. Is there any place that would have historical birth records in Cherokee County? My third great grandmother is Telissa (or Telisa or Telicia) Ateline Perry (maiden: Roe).

Any insight you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
