Recently I found a will for Earl J Taylor of Cherokee County (dated 1872). His wife was Tempe Montgomery. They had three children and I believe one child might have had some connection to the Monroe area of Tennessee. This line was not part of mine, it seems my Taylor line left Blount County, TN and settled in Cherokee County, NC in the 1850-1870. Married Crisps and Cables. I believe the oldest, the father,John was born in Lenoir County, NC abt 1784 and his wife Penelope born in NC around 1785. Some children born in Duplin between 1808-1820. The rest born in Blount County, TN after abt 1820. Appears to be 5 sons, Daniel, Abraham, John Lewis (left for MO abt 1850), Joseph and James and 2 daughters. The line consistently uses the name John, Penelope J, Benjamin, James or Jesse, Daniel with A for a middle name and Abraham. Taylor lines are difficult this one seems impossible. Good luck to you.
