My name is Diva Smith-Davis. I read your info on ancestry.com. I also have started a family tree. When I read your letter I cried, because I was so happy. Your great-grandfather is brother of my great-grandma Lonie Brannon born Feb 2, 1893. Add these names to your list, there were three other sisters Merky Brannon, Lula Brannon & Rose Ann Brannon. My great-grandma Lonie married Emmitt Smith in Vernon, Al in Lamar Co. Dec 1910. They had nine children Wardell Smith, Renzell Smith, Adell Smith, Emmitt Smith, Ezell Smith, Helen ( Doll) Smith, Christine Smith, Roosevelt (Sonny Boy) Smith & Willie Lee Smith. Wardell, Renzell & Emmitt are deceased.
Ezell Smith Sr, is my grandfather. Today I was on the net all morning. I pulled up the white pages on AOL and looked up every Brannon in Ok. When I saw Earlsboro I knew that I had heard my grandparents say that we had family there. So I stared calling every Brannon listed. I talked with Georgia then she gave me the # for Juanita.
When I told Juanita that I was; she was so excited. You have no idea how happy I was. Juanita and my grandfather are 1st cousins. She also gave me the # of Sandra Ann. We have to plan a family reunion, life is too too short. My grandfather will be 86 Aug 10. I have a quilt that my great-grandma made, on it are names of possible family members there are over 70 names on this quilt. I also have a picture of my great-great grandma Charity Brannon, my great-grandma Lonie, aunt Minnie, uncle Houston, uncle Vanny. This is a must see! I have to see if it will scan well. If not I will send you a copy as well. Please contact me! Diva Smith-Davis, 2018 S. 17th Avenue, Broadview, IL 60155 (708) 345-4719, firstname.lastname@example.org
