The Old Buncombe County Genealogical Society is celebrating Family History Month in October. The highlight of the celebration will be a Family History Fair & Open House combined with the Grand Opening of their new library on October 23, 2010 at 128 Bingham Road, Suite 950 in Asheville . The Fair, which is a drop-in event, will begin at 10 AM and end at 3 PM . All attendees will be able to research free of charge for the day, and assistance with research problems and questions will be available. Whether researching local families (including those in Clay County) or those who lived at a distance from western NC, researchers will find information and help with their family history. Refreshments will be served and there will be drawings for door prizes throughout the day.
