This is for or anyone researching the line of John Owens who wrote his will 16 Sep 1748 in Tyrrell Co., NC or Adam Owens who was born ca. 1748 and d. 1802 in Tyrrell Co., NC. I am thrilled to be able to share this information. After 15 years of searching, I have found proof that Adam was John's son. An Orphan bond in 1764 appoints Thomas Owens his guardian and states that Adam is the son of the deceased John Owens. All of John's children were under the age of 18 when he wrote his will, so I don't know who their original guardian was, possibly John's wife Ann but most likely a male relative or friend.
