I happened upon this board while researching a carved decoy that my family owns. Tacked to the decoy there is an old tag that was written on a typewriter that says: "Made by the father of Thomas D. Thompson of Grandy. His father was born before the war be-ween [sic] the States."
Based on this information, can anyone tell me who carved the decoy and when he was born and died? Also, if anyone knows any history of his decoy carving / hunting, that would be greatly appreciated.
