Any relationship to other West's in Tyrrell Co NC, Currituck Co NC and Accomack Co., VA is pure speculation as far as any documents I have ever found.
Martha and her children did not go to Tyrrell Co., NC until after Edward's death in 1733.
I have never found any proof to link Edward to the De La Warr West family but the similarity in Christian names certainly would lead one to believe they are related.
Edward, father of Nathaniel Spence West, was a less than sterling character. He seems to had a few scrapes with the authorities.
