Simeon T. Sawyer son of Simeon Sawyer

Classification: Query
Surnames: Sawyer
I have changed the subject line since our discussion really doesn't pertain to Mark Sawyer.

I have also been given the story that he was murdered by a carpetbagger. I don't know if it's true or if he is the one who died as a POW in Elmira, NY, although I think he might have been too old at 48 to have enlisted for the war.

I do believe there were at least two and probably three, Simeon Sawyers about the same age but one is listed as being single, one was born in Tyrrell Co. (married to Lucindy Duvals) and ours in Currituck Co. Sorting out who is who can be difficult.

One of these Simeon Sawyers is listed on the

I really don't know when or where our Simeon died but he was obviously dead by 1870 when Julia is head of the household.

I hope I have helped some and haven't confused you too much.
