APRIL 11,1961

Mrs.Ethel Doxey Miller,61,died Monday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at the residence of her daughter,Mrs.C.E.Davis at Coinjock,following a long illness.
She was a native and lifelong resident of Currituck County and lived at Coinjock recently.Prior to that she lived at Maple.She was the daughter of the late, Columbus and Annie Cayton Doxey and widow of Wallace L.Miller,Sr.
She is survived by seven daughters,Mrs.James Hall of Atlanta,Mrs.Charlie Kight of Barco,Mrs.Charlie Davis of Coinjock,Mrs.Charles Rall of Kitty Hawk,Mrs.Effie Rae Twiford of Hickory and Mrs.Julian Beasley of Maple;three sons,Fleetwood Cayton of Norfolk,Wallace Lee Miller,Jr.,of Hickory and Henry Miller,U.S.Army stationed at Fort Bragg;one sister,Mrs.Minnie Ferebee of Sligo;one brother,Ed Doxey of Currituck;four half-sisters,Mrs.Emma Spry of Whitaker,Mrs.Daisy Palmer of Coinjock,Mrs.Katherine Sanderlin of Elizabeth City and Mrs.Lilly Smith of Suffolk;two half-brothers,Jim Doxey of Coinjock and Ernest Doxey of Elizabeth City;29 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be conducted Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock in the chapel of the Twiford Funeral Home by the Rev.Joseph Wiseman,pastor of Rehoboth Baptist Church.Burial will follow in the Old Baxter Grove Cemetery at Tulls Creek.

Funeral services for Mrs.Ethel Doxey Miller,who died Monday afternoon at the residence of her daughter,Mrs.C.E.Davis of Coinjock were conducted Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock in the chapel of the Twiford Funeral Home by the Rev.Joseph Wiseman,pastor of Rehoboth Baptist Church.

"Abide With Me"and Beyond the Sunset" were sung by Mrs.Leslie Newbern,accompained at the organ by Miss Beth BonDurant.
The casket was covered with a pall made of white glads,varigated carnations and fern.
Active pallbearers were Marvin Doxey,Dewey Doxey,Don Doxey,Carl Doxey,Harry Austin and Garland Cox.
Burial followed in the Old Baxter Grove Cemetery at Tulls Creek.
