Hi Jean,
Thanks for responding to the message of Rich McCartney. My name is Melody and I posted the original message a bout the Whitehall family back in 1999. Rich and I are cousins. I would enjoy a copy of the list of troops that fought in the Great Battle. Why did you remark that this was a partial list? Do you know of a complete list? I have not been able to find any proof of Alexander's involvment in this battle other than a statement made in the biography of his great grandson Nicholas Whitehall in the History of Fountain County Indiana. Even the statement admits there is no record of the event involving Alexander. Funny thing about the biography is that it speaks entirely of Alexander and only mentions Nicholas as a citizen of Fountain County Indiana. I will send along the excerpt from the book via your e-mail. Is this story merely family lore? Possibly.
Thanks for your time Jean.
