My mother's ancestry in American is founded on Hatteras Island, DARE COUNTY, North Carolina. FARROW, MIDGETT(E) and SCARBOROUGH, are the predominant surnames associated with her maternal and paternal lineage. Her ancestors were among the first European immigrants to the Outer Banks, particularly Hatteras Island, in the late to early 1600's and 1700's respectively. Among our most noted ancestors are Pharoah Farrow, Archie SCARBOROUGH and a number of maritime marooning MIDGETTE(S)...with some JENNETTES',GRAYS', FULCHERS', & O'NEALS', thrown in for good measure. Although I have lived in Alaska since leaving Hatteras Island at 13yrs. old, I have been back at least once a year and have maintained friendships & my growing interest in Hatteras Island genealogy over these many years. I do have quite a bit of knowledge and written material relating to island genealogy and would love to share and exchange.
