Doctor Washington Hill was the s/o Sion Hill and Starage Lee. Sion was b. 1773 and he married Starage in 1800 in Johnston Co. I have never been aable to find p/o Starage in 30 yrs.
I was told they lived near the Johnston/Wake line. Sion and Starage moved to Wake Co. My gggf Riley Hill was b. there in 1810. Doctor Washington Hill was born in Wake Co. in 1818. They were in Davidson Co by 1821 or so. They were members of Tom's Creek Primitive Baptist Church which is still active. There is a Sion Hill buried there but the date is 1914.
Sion and Starage are probably there but there are a lot of unmarked graves. Riley Hill is buried at Mt. Shepherd Primitive Baptist Church. He married Apsylla Nance, d/o John and Michelle Peacock Nance. She later married Adderson Jackson in her old age. Riley had four sons in the War. It is believed that Green Hill was the f/o Sion since he is on the marriage record. Our immigrant g/p Robert Hill and Mary Webb came to Isle of Wight VA in 1642. They had sons Green and Sion.
They were supposed to be from a county next to Scotland.
Always glad to help if I can. My cousin, Lloyd Hill, in Archdale NC knows a lot of the Hill history. He is 82
and has lived in that area all his life.
