JOHN C. PAIGE
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Mr. John C. Paige, 91, departed this life Monday, Jan. 28, 2013, at St. Elizabeth Health Center.
Mr. Paige was born Sept. 30, 1921, in Lexington, North Carolina, (Davidson County) a son of Herbert and Florence Carrot Paige.
He was a graduate of Sharpsville High School in Sharpsville, Pa.,(Mercer County) and attended Youngstown State University, Youngstown, Ohio.
John had been an active member of St. John’s A.M.E. Church in Struthers, Ohio until illness prevented him from serving.
He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and will be truly missed by all.
He was a U.S. Army veteran.
He leaves to forever cherish his memory, his loving wife of 46 years, the former Ruth Evans, whom he married Jan. 29, 1966; two daughters, Pamela Miller of Youngstown, Ohio and Janiene (Henry) Paige - Jennings of Cleveland, OH; a sister, Marguerite Paige of Youngstown, Ohio; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Junellen Deborah Norris; five brothers, Herbert Jr., Frank, Odell, Roy and Ernest Paige; a sister, Myrtle Louise Williams; and a son-in-law, Michael Miller, Sr.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 4, 2013, at the L.E. Black, Phillips and Holden Funeral Home, Youngstown, Ohio.
Friends may call Monday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home
