Charlotte ALLEN b. 7 Aug 1823 Guilford Co., NC married Rev. David Hugh MCALPIN abt 1843 in Lexington, Davidson, NC. She died in 1890 in IL. Her family had been in NC for 2 generations. In 1842 she was baptized at the Marion Church near Lexington. Her cousin was supposedly Allen G. THURMOND (Grover Cleveland's 1888 running mate). Charlotte and Hugh had the following children in Salisbury before moving to Sampson Co., NC: James Allen 1844, (twins) Rebecca Jane and Catherine Ann 1846. In Sampson Co., they added John Butler, David Charles, William Addison, Edward Dayton, Mary Adelaide, Charlotte Elizabeth, and Joseph Hugh. I'm particularly interested in finding out about the ALLEN family.
